When we do a reading, most clients want to know ‘when’ so-and-so event is going to happen. For example, clients want to know when they will get married, or when they will get that promotion.

In most Tarot Card Readings, clients want to know if certain things will happen in their lives or not. And often, this question comes paired with the “When?” — because they are equally curious about when that event is likely to occur in their lives.

Tarot Card Predictions: Will It Happen? When Will It Happen?

At this point, I typically help my clients reframe their question to include the “When” part in the question itself. Let me explain why.

When you ask the cards if something can happen, they will tell you the answer to that question. My experience is that Tarot does not tell you “when” unless you specifically ask for this information.

In its best use-case, the Tarot can guide you as to how you can make the specific outcome happen.

Tarot card predictions can include the ‘when’ aspect only if you ask the cards a question with a timeline framework.

Tarot Card Predictions: Ask Specific Questions for Precise Answers

With clients who have “when” questions, I help them rephrase the question. Typically, we can ask if something is going to happen within the next six months.

I also tell clients that they could explore Astrology for their ‘when’ questions, because the specific movement of planets can be known down to the exact minute, which makes Astrology a rather precise method of Divination. Still, from what little I know of astrology, they too cannot be accurate about the ‘when’ bit. They can tell you when a favorable time will present itself so that you can take the necessary action to make it happen.

No matter where you go for guidance, nothing can manifest without action. The Tarot is beautiful because it can guide you about the action bit.

So we come back to the question about Tarot Card predictions – ‘How far into the future can the Tarot cards see?’

Tarot Card Predictions: If Nothing Changes

The answer is fairly straightforward. The Tarot is rooted ‘in the present’. When we do readings, we are tapping into the energies of the present – they give us the threads of the past events shaping this present, and then we follow those threads as they lead us into the future. This future depends a lot on the present. Events happening in the present will, naturally, shape events in the future. Therefore, it stands to reason that if you change something in the present, the future will unfold a bit differently. Right here is where free will comes into play!

Essentially, the Tarot Card predictions are a picture of how things will unfold if nothing changes and events are allowed to unfold without any change or shift in actions, inactions, attitudes, and approaches.

We human beings are quite resilient and changeable. Depending on how we understand the interplay of cause and effect, how life events affect and change us, and how shifts in perspectives make us emotionally resilient, we react and respond to life situations differently. Thus, long-term predictions based on the idea of “if nothing changes” will not be as accurate.

This is why Tarot card predictions cannot be accurate for long-term perspectives.

If a client is happy with that, then OK. But otherwise, more detailed and accurate guidance/prediction can be obtained only in the short term.

Tarot Card Predictions: How Far into the Future Can You See?

Typically, Tarot card predictions can be relevant to the next couple of months, and at most to the next six months. If we ask the cards for longer-term guidance, they can certainly provide it. But those Tarot card predictions will only be the highlights of the story. These Tarot card predictions won’t be a detailed version of the story.
