As a professional Tarot card reader, I often end up reading Tarot cards for total strangers. And I am not ashamed to admit that these are the kind of readings I like to do best.

I find it somehow simpler to read Tarot cards compared to either reading for myself or for friends and relatives.

Lets talk about why it is easier to read Tarot cards for total strangers.

Before we talk about the reasons why it is easier for to read Tarot cards for strangers, I would quickly like to touch upon the points that need to be considered when you read Tarot cards for myself and when you read Tarot cards for friends.

When you read Tarot cards for yourself, it is important to remain objective – especially because it is highly possible that your personal thoughts, feelings and expectations can be a barrier in the reading process.

When you read Tarot cards for friends and relatives, again, the feelings and emotions can get in the way. Also, because you already know many things about the goings-on in the lives of your friends, it can be difficult to see what new information the cards are trying to provide.

Perhaps, it is because of these abovementioned reasons, that I like reading Tarot cards for total strangers.

When you meet total strangers, it goes without saying that you know absolutely nothing about them and their issues. Which is why reading for them doesn’t involve the emotion related hurdles getting in the way of the reading process.

The Element of Surprise

[singlepic id=20 w=280 h=200 float=left]This is the best part of the reading. When you have no clue about what is going on the life of the person you are reading for, and the cards come up and you tell them stuff that you can see, they are totally caught by surprise.

I have found that it is this element of surprise that gets them more involved in the reading, and they are more willing to participate in the reading process. They then become more willing and eager to participate in the more creative reading processes that I often end up using in my readings.

The Element of Trust

The element of surprise also ensures that there is an unspoken, unarticulated trust that starts to develop between you (the reader) and the stranger (the client).

[singlepic id=22 w=300 h=220 float=right]This trust can be a very important part of the reading process. The clients are then more receptive towards the guidance provided by the Tarot card reader.

As a Tarot card reader, whether you like it or not, you are often performing the role of a counselor. And as a counselor, it is very important that you develop a feeling of trust in the client’s mind.

Of course, it is also equally important to not abuse that trust, (Atopic for another article, I suppose), and take advantage of his vulnerability. However, with the trust you can ensure that the client actually listens to what you are telling him.

Emotions Get Out Of The Way

[singlepic id=19 w=320 h=240 float=left]As I have mentioned before, reading for total strangers ensures that emotions don’t get in the way of the reading process. It ensures that you, as a Tarot card reader, are not caught up in the goings-on in the client’s life. You can remain distant (as you should be) and then give your reading.

As a reader, it is very important that your personal feelings don’t come up in the reading process. It is essential to understand that everyone else doesn’t function in the same way as you do, and every single person on this planet has Free Will. While reading for total strangers, this philosophy can be simpler to implement.

Objectivity

Remaining objective can often be a tad difficult when you are involved in the client’s life and problems. With total strangers, this doesn’t become an issue.

While it is important to remain empathic to the client’s issues, as a Tarot card reader one is the in the unique position where one can remain objective and see the ‘bigger picture’ in the reading, as it were, and advise the client accordingly.

Intuition at its Best

[singlepic id=21 w=320 h=240 float=right]It has been my personal experience that I am at my best, Intuitive self when I am reading Tarot cards for total strangers. It is probably because of the fact that I don’t have any background information about the client, that I tend to just let go of my mind and let my intuition take over during the reading.

I find that not knowing anything about the client causes me to trust the intuitive process much more than I normally would, and I end up giving them a surprisingly accurate reading.

Absurd, But True

[singlepic id=24 w=320 h=240 float=left]Again, this is a direct result of the fact that I am more open intuitively to what the cards are saying.

Many a times I have had these absurd thoughts as I did such readings – thoughts that had me stopping and going ‘Huh?’

But then I simply tell my client, “I don’t know why this is coming into my head, but this card tells me….” After I tell them, I often have the client vigorously nodding his / her head and saying something like, “Wow! How did you know that?”

I find that I can be a tad bit more creative while I read for total strangers.

Your Turn…
