About Me

Madhavi Ghare: Tarot Card Reader, Tarot Mentor

Hello! My name is Madhavi Ghare. I live in Dumont, NJ, a cute little borough township in Bergen County, North New Jersey. I am a professional Tarot Card Reader and Tarot Mentor.

Apart from the Tarot, I also read with a few other card-based Divination systems: the Petit Lenormand, Kipper, and the Grand Jeu Lenormand. Currently, I’m learning the Vera Sibilla Oracle cards.

It Began With a Tarot Card Reading…

Tarot Cards

Back in 2006, my life was going through a lot of changes. I was unsure about literally everything about my life — and had no idea what I wanted or where I was headed.

It was then that a friend of mine suggested I get a Tarot Card Reading. Skeptical, but curious, I called up the Tarot Card Reader and went in for my reading.

As I looked at the card images, I felt a deep connection. I wanted to know – I absolutely had to know – what all those mysterious symbols and images were all about. As soon as the reading ended, I asked the lady Tarot Card Reader if I could learn Tarot card reading, and of course, if she would teach me.

Of course, naïve as I was back then, I figured that once I learned how to read Tarot cards, I could easily do readings for myself, and save a bunch of money in the process.

After our class ended, I still wanted to learn more. So I began scouring the Internet and browsing through book stores. There was so much more in the cards, and I was hungry to learn.

Then I Studied. A. Lot.

I had always been very interested in Mythology and Psychology. Of course, as my studies in Tarot expanded, I began to study other subjects like Numerology and even Art. Unknowingly, unconsciously, my life was slowly unfolding and changing. And even though I couldn’t read the cards for myself (Yet! Alas!) a path was opening up for me. As I learned, my readings became more vivid, more intuitive and imaginative. And of course, my clients ended up happier. ?

I Became a Professional Tarot Card Reader

Somewhere in the middle of all this learning and teaching, I discovered (to my utter dismay) that I simply couldn’t read the cards for myself. But, when I read for some of my friends and colleagues, they were astounded by the readings. So I started reading Tarot Cards professionally. And it took me at least 3 – 4 years to be able to read for myself.

Read my article about how you can do a Tarot Card Reading for yourself.

That was also about the time I began teaching Tarot Card Reading to students who wanted to learn Tarot.

Meanwhile, I also began a career as a Writer. The cards had shown me the way ahead with my career. I wrote for blogs, and websites. And I also started a blog about my experiences with Tarot Cards.

A Decade Later…

Ten years passed — and so much has changed in my life. The cards opened up a pathway for self knowledge and self understanding like none other! And of course, I’ve published my Tarot book on Amazon where I go deep into using a simple Storytelling Technique to do amazing Tarot Card Readings.

Of late, I’ve also found myself getting drawn to Learn how to read Lenormand Cards — these pre-date the Tarot and were (and still are) quite popular in Europe for a very long time. I find the language of each system quite intriguing — while the Tarot is more flowery, descriptive, emotive and spiritual, the Lenormand cards are direct, precise and practical. Weaving these aspects together in a reading is actually fun and interesting — and of course, my clients have benefitted immensely.

Along with this, I’ve also found myself exploring the imagery of the Thoth Tarot Deck and its mystical connections with Kabbalah — which in and of itself is pretty fascinating.

Tarot and I, Now

The 78 Tarot Cards are my best friends. They are the kind of friends who won’t lie to me, who don’t sugarcoat the truth, and who are sometimes witty and funny, and always totally loyal. I simply cannot imagine my life without them.

I am still very much excited and curious. There are so many things that I still haven’t explored, and so many things that I learn from them every single time. The deeper I go, the more the world opens up for me. It is fascinating and endearing at the same time.

And yes, I am still learning. Every time I teach a student, I learn something new. Every time I do a reading, I learn something new. Every time I connect with the readers of my blog, I learn something new.

More Tarot. More Cartomancy. And I’m Learning Astrology too!

The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn! Starting with the Tarot, I discovered that there are 3 core pillars or imagery systems that operate slightly differently from one another. Apart from the Rider-Waite-Smith, which we are all familiar with, the other two are the Tarot de Marseille and the Thoth.

Additionally, the history of Cartomancy is rich in beautiful Divinatory systems, such as the Petit Lenormand, the Kipper, the Grand Jeu Lenormand, and the Vera Sibilla, to name a few.

I have learned and read with the Tarot de Marseille, the Thoth, the Petit Lenormand, the Kipper, and the Grand Jeu Lenormand. At present, I’m learning the Vera Sibilla. Along with these systems, I’ve found myself drawn to Western Astrology. So I’m studying that as well. Phew! 😅

With this site and the blog, I wanted to create a place for me to reach out to you, and for you to connect with me. Whether it was to share knowledge, to learn, or for a reading, this site is one of the ways to connect with the other Tarot-ists out there.

If you want to reach out to me, feel free to Contact Me. Let’s talk. Let’s learn. Let’s connect.
